Default Chrysler (Lancia) Ypsilon

This could be Chrysler's entry into the B-Car mainstream:

If we're going to get it, it's still at least two years off. I like the upscale personality. But I guess, being badged as a Chrysler, it will also be pretty expensive.

By the time it gets here, if it gets here, who knows what the brand will be. Dodge may be on the way out. The trucks are now "Rams", not Dodge. The minivans are the same except for minor trim. Like GM, they have too many brands. Pricing is hard to say. If they are around five years from now they will have an interesting line of cars. Fiat has a lot of little cars that could come here.

Default Nice!

If Sergio re introduces Fiat to this country correctly, Fiesta might have some real competition. Unlike the entirely precious Mini, Fiats have a broader appeal to those who either aren't hairstylists or secretaries ()...and they excel at the same things the Fiesta does: Style and handling.

Default Fiat 500 is coming!!!

So yah I think i would agree that the fiat 500 is the closest competition for the fiesta, but there doesn't seem to be a msrp for the us market yet. but they are to be on the lots by early to mid summer. I totally need to drive one! I'll let you all know what i think when I drive it!

If it came with that turbodiesel option I think it could be a hit.

Dear Automakers,

In small cars, why not give us diesel options so as to get amazing (50+MPG) mileage and retain fun-to-driveness.

Thanks,

Consumers in 5-10 years.

No doubt that FIAT has plenty of interesting and desirable smaller vehicles that would sell in the USA. Hopefully FIAT will make sure that the service infrastructure is properly functioning before offering the products. Actually today current FIATs at least most models are very durable and reliable probably about on par with many Japanese and Korean models too.

This little Lancia is very interesting and attractive, I like it because it looks much different from everything else out there especially in the USA. Of course most Lancias handle and drive excellently, and have very good levels of comfort too.

AGREED about offering small TURBO DIESEL engines in subcompact cars in the USA. Sometimes I wonder if the reason why this isn't being done is because the companies don't want to encourage consumers to buy cars with lesser profit margins but instead look at the larger vehicles like CUvs with high profit margins by making the small cars they offer less desirable? Manipulation? I think so.
