Let the derision begin over style and gas mileage, however I can afford to buy any vehicle I want and have driven and owned dozen upon dozen of cars, SUVs, and trucks in every price range and with every feature and I still have not found any I would rather have than the second generation Scion xB - for my needs.
The huge cargo area with the back seats folded down holds amps and guitars galore, the gigantic and well placed moonroof in the special editions (08 and 11 models only) is more than enjoyable, decent gas mileage (23city 30hwy) and most importantly how it drives and handles like a go cart - kind of a mix between a Mini and a Fiesta, 'pure' pricing (everyone pays the same), zero issues requiring trips to the dealer to fix - and mine's a first year model, resale value - dealers actually sell used ones for more than new ones - have you figured out by now that I just like 'em enough to have two? Even my gf who wasn't interested ended up getting one and is now absolutely head over heels! Like the Fiesta too. Why not have both? ![]() Last edited by Karma; 06-26-2011 at 09:51 PM. |

I like what you've done with that yellow box!
![]() Hey if you love it, that's what matters? I wish they still built S10 pick ups, mine is getting ragged...

I think Ford blew it with the Flex for example. Way too big and horrible gas mileage. They could have just shrunk it to the xB size and some of us on this forum would be buying one.

I thought my GMC Safari van was ugly but this SCION IS WAY UGLY. Next is the Pontiac Vibe. How do these designers manage to get something that bad into the market?

![]() If you've ever been to Tokyo and seen some of the interesting shapes and sizes of cars, truck and vans there, that might explain it. It's amazing actually and Made in Japan.

Wife always remarks that it looks like a car designed by a 1st grader. Box with 4 wheels and a hood.
Of course when I 1st saw the tail lights on Nissans I was reminded of the cheap "space ships" I used to see as toys in the early 50's. I was going to comment on the seats but that was the one Scion xB the dealer had in stock. We had to limp out of them within 2 minutes or call the paramedics.

I drove my other one pictured here from Phoenix to Vegas when I picked it up from the retired couple I bought it from - just over 4 hours and it was totally comfy - no seat issues at all. I've never heard anyone say anything about the seats before, though I am 5' 10" and weigh like 165 so, my body type is probably more slender Asian than super sized American (not that you are). The new Focus sport seats I couldn't get comfortable in though. They have some wanky headrest design that doesn't even lower all the way. Didn't like them at all.
