Default Well, I finally bought my sub-compact!

While it may not be a Fiesta, I do find myself enjoying it. I had been browsing for awhile and finally came to decision after driving a few cars in the same price range, including a 2011 Fiesta. This is my first Honda ever! Prior to this my past 4 rides were all Fords. Mustangs to be exact, 3 GTs and a Terminator.

While the Fiesta was my first choice, and the first one I had test drove, some of the complaints really turned me off from it. Despite it usually doing the best in road tests most reviews seemed to point to the Fit as a more versatile car. The big issues for me with the Fiesta were the limited backseat space and the automatic transmission problems. Most reviews criticized the Fiesta for having such cramped leg room in the back seat and the limited space for storage. This is where the Fit seemed to shine! It has about double the storage space and even the back seat has plenty of legroom.

So, while I didn't buy the Fiesta, I'm still a huge Ford fan and plan on getting back into another Mustang at some point. Perhaps the 2014 Stang!

Anyways, I'll probably still poke around this forum and check out all the great looking rides!

Lastly, here's a couple pics in case any of you wanted to print them out and put em on your dart board!

Thumbs down Enjoy the mini-mini-van. It's hideous.

The Fiesta isn't the car for everyone. Definitely gotta get the one that is right for your needs. It's sad that you note the transmission issues, because there are many people (myself included) who've had no troubles at all with their automatics. More space is more space though, no matter how you cut it. I think docking the Fiesta points for having limited storage and backseat leg room is silly; although more adult sized legroom would be welcomed of course.

Sad you see you've gone to the dark side with a Fit (did you look at Versas?) but I hope it's car you can love.

Congrats on the sub-compact! The fit is a good car, to me it doesn't have the excitement of a fiesta, but I don't need as much space. Now, shower some mugen, or spoon toys on it!

Oh! Almost forgot... My powershift is wicked! No issues at all, not even worried about it.

I have to agree with Audrey. Too bad the Auto trans has erroneously surfaced as a large problem. It ain't so. I, like Audrey have had no problems with my transmission after having the TBS applied.

I blame ourselves (this Forum) for the over-reaction. But forums like this is how these problems are resolved. It is what it is.

Congrates on your new Fit.

First congrats on your purchase; It looks like you did your research and made an informed choice.

A couple of comments for the forum

It seems like any time a company tries to introduce new technology to North Americans it goes badly... This has happened to Audi and VW several times and now Ford.
Is it consumer ignorance? Marketing failure? Point of sales failure? Improper dissemination of product information? What ever the cause it just seems that the consumers have a very narrow range of expectation and anything outside that range is cause for complaint. It's no wonder that most companies don't even try. I applaud Ford for taking this risk: I would not have purchased the car if it only came with a slush box transmission like the other B-class cars.

I read through the comparisons of the cars in the B-class... looked at the test results... and was completely shocked that the writers put the Fit at the top in the test... But then the magazines, IMO, have had a huge bias for Honda over the years... My Honda Civic was a huge disappointment and I'm glad it's gone.

I wish you more luck with your Honda than I had with mine.

Congrats on the Fit. It looks just like mine. Yes, I have both a Fit and a Fiesta. One is a mini-mini-van and the other is a daily driver commuter (and fun car).

btw, just to pile on, I also have the Powershift and have no problems.

And if you got the Sport/Navigation package on your Fit - good luck with the out of date maps and $189 yearly upgrades to get it to only be about 2 years behind the $99 portable GPS systems.

I honestly like the way the Fit looks from the front & back (obviously it doesn't have the best profile, hence the mini-van comparison). But I would happily drive a Fit Sport with a 5-spd. Now get some of the Mugen accessories and post some more pics!

If you are looking a Mugen (or any other accessory), take a look at College Hills Honda. They tend to have good prices and fast response.
