Default Hyundai

I drove by a Hyundai dealer on the way home today.
They had a big banner that said "Zero Interest".

I couldn't agree more!

Not bashing.

Just thought the sign was funny.

I don't know much about Hyundai, but their 100k warranty is a signal that they're trying to improve their reliability among consumers. That's not a bad thing in my book. Their cars are interesting looking, but nothing exciting to me.

I almost got an Accent. It's a very, very solid car, for cheaper than the Fiesta, with a better warranty. Why get a Fiesta? I think it'll be more well-supported in the long run, and I think its drive is a tiny bit nicer. But I certainly cannot blame ANYBODY for picking up an Accent. I thought it was a nice car!

Parked next to a 2012 Accent today, No too shabby... BUT again, you can always tell a Korean car from the Interior Finishes / Parts.

As someone who has owned a bunch of Kia'a (same company as Hyundai), I can say that after my month with the Fiesta (my first non Korean car ever) there is a HUGE difference between the two cars:

The Accent as its cousin the Kia Rio (I had 4 of those) uses a cheaper plastic material than Ford. I thought it was standard in all subcompact cars until I got my Fiesta! All the Kias I owned were scratched up on the interior after a few months.

Kia and Hyundai have limited technology. Their bluetooth is ok but many people complained to me that I sounded distant. Sync is awesome, it has blown my mind! I dont see that type of Tech on an Accent. Only Tech they come iwth is XM radio!

Although resale value is getting much stronger with Hyundai and Kia it is debatable what it will look like in the future. The cars they make are certainly nice looking but how will they hold up in the future?

Kia and Hyundai have cut many corners on US market autos due to the dollar being weak. This means less features and cheaper materials!

I know this has nothing to do with the topic at hand but keep in mind Korea does not make it easy for Ford to sell cars in their "free" market economy. Meanwhile here in the US we allow them to sell hundreds of thousands of Kias and Hyundais. If I would have known about this a few years back I would have stopped buying their cars. I have no problem with people buying their cars here, but the Korean government (that makes a huge profit off their stake in Hyundai) should be more even handed when it comes to trade!! Just one mans opinion :-)

I gotta say, I think Hyundai's money-in-the-bank car is the Elantra.

You can pretty much get all the amenities the more expensive cars have in it, for a decent price along with styling that's well above what some manufacturers produce at that price range (Dodge Avenger, Corolla, ugh...Chevy Aveo).

I believe Hyundai has come a loooooooooooong way fron the Hyunday of 10-15 years ago and it shows.

Though, the sign is funny...
