Chevy finally unveiled the US version of the Spark.

Here's the facts:

• 1.2L 4-cyl with 5spd manual or 4spd auto.
• Std. AC, power windows, alloys.
• Improved version of Sonic gauge cluster.
• Massive touch-screen available.
• Available in metallic yellow, lime green (no surprise to us) or pink (!)

I predict:

• Anemic performance and lackluster fuel economy.
• Cheap and chintzy interior to rival the old Aveo.
• Horrific wind noise from the roof rack.
• People will buy it anyway because its cute.

Is it just me or does the dash look like they copied the overall shape and design of the Fiesta's?

The Aveo was so terrible, don't know why they want to keep any styling cues of it such as the round taillights. Sonic has them too.

Yeah if it is cheap enough people will buy anything. To thier regret later. Yugo, 1980's Hyundai Excel, Geo metro. and 1st gen Kia Rio come to mind. All junk.

It is a viable competitor to the Smart and Scion IQ and Fiat 500. It will have slightly better performance than either of the first two of those, but with cheaper finish. I predict that they will sell pretty good in the major metros, but not so well in the burbs. Now, stuff in the 1.4 turbo and Bob's your uncle! Hopefully they don't pogo along like the old GM subs... And I agree, stop stealing design from the corvette folks! The round tails are incongruous on the sonic and the spark!
