Talking Filled up Today in my Yaris - 53.3 MPG (!!!)

http://www.fuelly.com/driver/theblueyaris/yaris

So I lost 3 receipts in a row and if I can't log this exactly, I stopped (I'm OCD). But anyways, I've been average 45-47 and finally broke 50 on a road trip that was all highway. 65 mph max. How are your Fiestas?

Awesome thanks for asking. There must be a Yaris forum around her somewhere...

Glad your back Thom, hope the old girl is bringing hypersmiles to your hypermiles!

What's your opinion on the new Yaris?

I love my Yaris. It's been perfectly reliable, comfortable, and it's not the penalty box that people make it out to be.

From the pics I've seen of the New Yaris, I don't like it. But I understand that it's much more refined and handles a little better. Not a fan, though.

Not shabby on this end, thanks for asking. I looked pretty hard at the Yaris, but for me it came down to being 60 miles from a dealer when it comes to service time. I regret that I didn't get one when I bought my '07 Focus. I would probably be driving it still, that Focus had no soul.

For you Yaris fans there is a dedicated site right here-
Toyota Yaris Forums - Ultimate Yaris Enthusiast Site - Powered by vBulletin
I like the new version.Truth is we couldn't find an 11 Yaris sedan equipped the way my folks wanted otherwise they would have bought it instead of the Fiesta S sedan.Unfortunately the sedan has been dropped at least for a while.

Anyone that buys a Yaris must be a bland, bland person. My aunt had an Echo, and it was cheap, slow and had zero style. I must say though, Toyotas are the most reliable car you can buy, and that Yaris will likely outlive my car.

That is outstanding fuel mileage. You must be a really careful driver to average such a high mpg. The new Yaris is more to my liking than the old one for sure. My problem with it is that I think the base model is priced too high and the arrogant dealers wont come off a nickle. My problem with the Fiesta is that there is no three door like the Yaris. The Fiesta is high enough as it is. Makes me tempted to check out a Versa.. I have no emotional attachment to cars like this so brand loyalty goes out the door. The Versa is more than likely a step down from anything but the price is tempting.

Consumer Reports disagrees. They have rated Ford's quality Equal to Honda & Toyota the past few years.

It didn't used to be that way. We have an '82 Hilux pickup that's never had issues and we expect many more years from her.
