Yeah, I kind of mentioned that in my original post. The Versa looks OK, but it doesn't have the curb appeal of the Fiesta. And the interior isn't much to write home about. Take the single line display on the radio, for instance.
Like I said, compared to the other competitors out there, I find the Fiesta to be much more cool. And, it gets great MPG's to boot. I guess function CAN follow form after all.

Hey, as much as cars cost you're allowed to be picky! (:

I personally feel that Nissan is being lazy with this car. Probably the most boring 2012 car I've seen on the market.

yeah, if back seat size was really that big of an issue, i'd be stepping up to the Sentra (if buying a Nissan). i wanted a car primarily for dependable DD, above avg MPG, and curb appeal/technology. my Fiesta fits the bill in all of those.
i was this close to getting a Sentra, but the deal fell through thanks to having an issue with their finance dept. as much as i liked the Sentra, I'm glad I ended up in the Fiesta, as the options weren't quite the same between the two.

People with kids, small amounts of cargo/pets and don't want to spend a ton of money. As blah as the styling of the Versa is, it is still better than a minivan. I personally hate the car (hard for me to say as Nissan fan) but my wife loves hers. Like....won't get rid of it until the wheels fall off. No idea why.
