Hey, from the UK here so might be a little different to the main users on here, but figured I'd let you know what I've done to mine and my plans!
So far I've had a remap and a K&N panel filter put in the stock air box which has me up to 125bhp (from 90) and 286nm of torque so far which is a pretty reasonable set of figures, definitely noticed an improvement :P. My plans for the engine are to add a set of the 110bhp Ford Fucus TDCi injectors and a hybrid turbocharger into the mix, my local performance garage says 150bhp and around 350nm of Torque was fetched by an earlier model diesel by doing this so I like the sound of these figures. So far though not sure if to alter the exhaust system, I don't want some stupid loud system that deafens the world, even though I could net close to 170bhp down this route which is tempting power wise, just it's my daily car and I don't want to seem like some silly kid who was let loose with a box of spanners, however I have found a decent system with resonator's which perhaps may be a good route to go down. Also planning on seeing if a Citroen 6-speed manual box will fit the Fiesta as they're identical engines, but this isn't certain yet. Costs are approximate as I'm using Google to convert prices to US; Remap - £299/$465 Filter - £35/$55 Total - £334/$520 As for the rest; Injector's - £90 each / $140 each Turbocharger - £1099 / $1710 (for a top spec turbo I might add, can get other's for less) Exhaust (maybe) - £300 - 900 / $465 - 1400 Unsure whether to uprate things like the Intercooler and such, if I go for that top spec turbo then I think I will, just depends on funds as if I do I'm looking at around £2000 or $3100 for just the Turbo system. Just thought I'd let you American's (and anyone else who uses this!) know what this Brit is up too :P |

Not really wanting a loud exhaust, I could get about 165bhp though with a quieter one that's on par with the Mountune package (not sure if that's available outside the UK but it's a package you can get that's Ford approved, taking petrol models from 120PS to 140PS), that'd cost around £300 :P

My dsm had a 3" Exhaust with a hiflow cat and a cheap straight through muffler and it was not bad at all. |

Right well today I've fitted 4 new injectors and replaced the stock turbo with a shiny new Hybrid turbo, I'm replacing the intercooler tomorrow and having a hose upgrade, remap on Monday (again) and a new intake system (modified stock air intake) to be dropped in tomorrow with the intercooler.
I have on order a new downpipe, sports cat and a new exhaust system that I've been assured will look low key (unseen like the original), sound reasonably quiet (slight grunt if revved hard) and adds a good bit of power, so good times. Hopefully will be a similar power BHP wise as the new ST coming out, and look like a standard Zetec S (sporty version in the EU) so good times :P |

But that DSM does have a nice pulse to it when idling/light throttle.

Your engines are the same as our petrol engines aren't they? 120PS Sigma? I heard your gearboxes are where the problem's lie or something, but then again I'd hate to say whether or not you can get the euro boxes over in the states, I used a Citroen 6 speed box on mine from the scrap yard and it fit a treat today and boy's the difference.
