So Telero, how's that dungeon coming along for you? You keeping your nose to the grindstone in an effort to keep Audrey's attention away from the evils of Diesel?

Telero doesn't have problems keeping my attention. (;

In all honesty Vin isn't really that attractive to me. I read somewhere recently in a random headline that he plays D&D, so I thought it'd be amusing to bring up.

honestly, the ONLY point in throttle response that I am disappointed with in the Fiesta (my first drive-by-wire car) is when I let off the throttle.

In both my Focus and the wife's Jetta, if you wanted to blip the throttle - just a quick on/off the gas - the revs would just about mirror what your foot did; a quick up/down.

With the Fiesta, if you tap the gas to rev it the rpms shoot up.... and then slooooooowly descend back to idle. First time it happened in traffic I thought I had done something wrong in a shift. But the more I played with it, the more it seems like a built in safety of some sort on the computerized throttle response.

THAT I wish I could get rid of. It's not a big thing, I know, but it annoys me that the car doesn't react to my inputs in a timely manner. Waiting patiently on a tune

Some of that delay has something to do with emissions.
Even my cable operated Escort did it, just not as noticeable.

I, like most here, have adapted to my Powershift transmission and the accelorator pedal. I have posted elsewhere that I felt the accelorator was a bit 'twitchy' and oversensitive. Once I've gotten used to it I have no problems whatsoever, including any lag uncommon to virtually any EPA compliant car today.

I do think Fiesta might survive more test drives with purchases if there were a little less learning.

Right. Closing the throttle too quickly causes an overly rich mixture in the cylinders, so more air has to be let in to let that fuel burn properly.

Amazing how few people that roll-on / roll-off. No wonder 1/2 shafts / CV joints get knackered...
