Default NO Waterpumps???

In my previous post I noted that the Antifreeze reservoir was below the Min. level mark. After looking over the motor some more I noticed a couple drops coming from the waterpump.
Called the dealer to see how long they would need the car and to make sure the repair parts were on hand. It turns out that they Don't have one, Can't get one, AND the supplier is unable the make them right now
They still want me to bring in the car to see if it is the waterpump. So I need to take off work for them to tell me that they can't fix it ???

Maybe I should have bought a Chevy

Obviously, find another dealer who is willing to accomodate you as a customer.

I'm told that there's not a dealer in the state with a waterpump.
The pumps are not even being made because of some kind of production problem.

Oops, wrong selection on spell check.

I'll fix it.

Did they ever hear of FedEx? How about taking one from a new unit on the lot? I would think that one exist someplace on this globe! Apparently existing customer satisfaction is not primary to them.

If their not even being made then anybody with a Fiesta on order is going to have a long wait or delay.

I think our lovely FordCustomer Service reps such as Noemi or Jackie need to get involved.

have they determined the pump housing and assembly are bad, or is it a gasket or o-ring or loose hose? How much fluid are you really losing? I had a slight leak out of my water neck/t-stat housing on my Mustang for years. It would drip out over the timing cover and I would add fluid to keep it topped off. I left it until I rebuilt the engine. On my SVT Focus, the o-ring failed on the housing and dumped a lot of coolant all over the garage floor. Both cases it was a gasket or o-ring and not the actual housing.

I just checked and the pumps are on backorder, it appears to be an issue with the supplier not supplying the part to Ford.

I also checked the parts locator system and there are only four of those pumps in the entire country at the moment.

Your dealer should be able to use the locator to track one down and have it shipped in.

The only issue would be if the people that have them won't sell them, they could be special order parts.

The car is driveable at this point is it not? If it's just a minor leak you could probably drive it without any problems until the pumps become available.

Thanks for all the input from everybody.

The antifreeze was a good 1/2 inch BELOW the Minimum mark on the

reservoir when I noticed it a couple days ago, so I don't know yet how fast

its leaking. Will keep an eye on it until the car goes in on Monday to the

dealer.
