Default Ford emblems coming apart

Anyone else notice their Ford emblems coming apart on the grille and rear decklid? I was doing some clean up on my Fiesta this weekend since the weather was nice and I noticed both the front and rear emblems are coming apart. There is a seperation between the clear exterior cover and the chrome ring around the blue oval. It looks horrible!

I've seen that a lot on the used trucks we have on our lot. It's a shame...you should bring it to the dealer and have them replace them under warranty.

Agreed!

Or remove them (I haven't looked to see how this would look yet but I'm all about clean advertisement free cars, yes even manufacturers if needed)...

I am very proud of my Ford oval, and dissapointed it is coming apart. The ovals on my 26 year old, 120,000 mile+ Mustang started to look ragged, but I expect that with its age. The Fiesta's emblems look terrible after 25000 miles. I will check with my dealer and get new ones under warranty.

Our new Flex had to have its rear deck emblem replaced. It seemed like the plastic was separating from the aluminum metallic layer underneath. Water was getting in and then it was corroding; similar to what you see on aluminum clearcoat wheels when they get scratched and then start to corrode. It's funny because my dealer didn't think it was a big deal at the time and I responded by saying 'say it loud and say it proud!' Then he understood and replaced it no problem.

Thanks, the description sounds exactly what I have going on. Hopefully I won't have any issues getting them replaced. When the local dealer was under different ownership, I had them replace my SVT Focus badge after some of the letters fell off. I had a SVT Focu and then a SVT Fo u.

Go get it replaced. I had the same problem last year with the front emblem on my Fiesta, it was replaced under warranty.

hmm. you made me look. The Ford oval on my Fiesta look fine. I don't recall any problem with emblems on my '88 Mustang either.

My Mustang one was really faded, but I expected that given the age and condition of the car. Out of all the Ford's in my family, which include 7 Mustangs, 2 Escapes, 1 Focus, 1 Contour, 1 Fiesta, 1 Windstar, and 2 Fusions, my Fiesta is the only one with Ford emblems coming apart. Hoping for next week to get the Fiesta in for new emblems, fix the clock, and have the squeeking brake pedal looked at.
