Default Racing Beat rear sway bar

so... I got a Racing Beat MAZDA2 rear sway bar for a today. Guess what? It fits the Fiesta! The bar is clamped on inside the twist beam.

i dont see how this will help anything, too many points where the part can flex using the bolts

A stiffer rear end will induce more understeer won't it?

but our rear suspensions are already torsion beams (semi-independent, left and right wheels connected).

how would adding a sway bar change things?

So I can't tell from the pics but I'm thinking the point of this is more to take up space inside the twist beam. When it starts to twist its movement is limited, not by holding it from the outside but by taking up space on the inside. The same way the Steeda piece fills the space by being bolted in, this fills it with it's physical size.

Limiting the movement makes it a bit stiffer. It's kina putting a larger diameter sway bar on a car that already had one.

@ eRic
Nice find keep us posted with results and driving impressions.

I'm worried torsion stress might shear those bolts off :\

The rear sway bar reduces the amount of twist in the twist beam. My Fiesta is more eager to rotate now. Those bolts aren't going anywhere.
Here's a link to Racing Beat so you can see the sway bar and mounting hardware
