I did the install myself last week and I can tell the difference. Not a big one, but definitely less body roll at speed and the ride feels the same.
I was quoted 4.4 hours plus alignment from a couple dealers. Took 4 hours to install the suspension and magnaflow exhaust while moving slow through it. Should only take a dealer with a lift/all the right tools at hand 1.5 to do the install. But how would they make money if it was that fast?

It used to take me around four hours to change the whole suapension on my ZX2SR. Accessing the upper mounts took about one of those hours. You had to take abunch of trim pices out first and then reinstall.

Ok, Bojix Designs installed the handling kit today for $180 in about 2.5 hours. As described on their website, this is a family operation, which really shows. Seriously about the nicest people you could ever meet, and very prideful about their work-- clearly enthusiasts about motorsports themselves and glad to explain things in understandable detail. George and his father even asked me to come back in about a month for a free alignment check/adjustment, just to make sure everything still good after the suspension settles in.
Unfortunately, it was raining all day today, so I didn't get much chance to see how the car corners. However, as far as the ride goes, with the stock 16" wheels and tires, the kit definitely still allows enough compliance for a daily driver. Given the shorter springs, the overall ride is a little stiffer, but the progressive rate still allows for very good bump absorption. Personally, I'm very satisfied that the car is low enough with this kit, but then I don't intend to use it for the track or frequent aggressive driving like some of you will. I just wanted to tighten things up a bit. Even so, I can already tell that I'm going to have to be careful to always take speed bumps and driveways at an angle now to avoid dragging the (stock) airdam. I do already notice that since this kit drops the rear more than the front, the steering is not as quick as it was. Overall, I think this is one of the best bang for the buck upgrades: about $400 for the kit and installation combined! martin |
