So, I have a sin I need to admit to... I overwork my car...
I use her for work, and drive approx 200 miles a day and have racked up 35,000 miles since Feb 2011. As such, it is nearing time for new tires. Just wondering what suggestions people had for me. The OEM Kumho's handled great, and are inexpensive, but before I go ahead and buy, I figured I would ask my fellow Fiesta lovers what tires they think would compliment her already sporty handling?? Keep in mind, this upcoming set of tires will witness the addition of a strut tower brace and a few other suspension upgrades, as well as a possible CAI/ Exhaust upgrade, depending on how long they last. you like the khumo's? i really think they are just ok performance wise, but since you got about 35k miles out of them, that makes me think they aren't so bad. I have the boesch built intake and a magnaflow muffler and it definitely helps mpg and fun factor. I went with the steeda strut tower brace which really helps tie the front end together and it's pretty cheap too. Since you drive a lot you might want to get tires from someone who will give you a millage guarantee . Then you can just drive hard and have a little fun knowing that your going to get your next set pro rated.

In my opinion the factory Kumho's aren't exactly spectacular in any condition.
I'll be replacing them with Michelin Primacy MXV4's once the Kumho's start to show enough wear to justify the (fairly substantial) cost of the Michelin's. |

Don't get me wrong, the Kumho's weren't the most spectacular tires, but never once let go of their grip under all the spirited driving I three at them. I'm just worried they may not hold up the the job once the car has a little more to it. They were a great match to the factory setup, but will they be when the cars suspension is a little more tighter?? I've heard fantastic things about Kumho ASX's and Kumho 4X's. Any thoughts on those. A buddy of mine has the ASX's on his 2011 Impreza WRX with eibach suspension package, CAI, Cobb Tuning Chip, and exhaust and he says they hold the road great.

For an everyday all season tire, the Kumho is hard to beat. On my ZX2SR I always had summer/performance tires. In comparison, I find the Kumhos work quite well for an all around tire.
A lot depends on what you want from a tire. Be aware that most performance tires do not last as long as a "touring" tire. I had a set of Bridgestones that were gone after 15 k miles. Visiting a tire site such as The Tire Rack can be a big help in picking a tire. |

Kumho is a great company that makes a reliable, good performing tire while keeping prices low. I agree with johnny rotten about the Michelin MXV4. However Kuhmo's are a great alternative at a lower price. Check these out.
Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum 195/60R15 is a Grand Touring All-Season like the Michelin. Kumho Ecsta 4X 205/55R15 is a Ultra High Performance All-Season. Very good handling capabilities and hydroplaining resistance as well as sufficient ice and snow traction. Remember to place your orders through the link to help support the forum!

Switching to 195/55/15 does give more choices of H and higher speed rated tires, such as the Yokohama Avid ENVigor. |

I low te yoko avid envigers. Those will go one when it's time for new tires for my fiesta. Ultra high all season tires and I think it's a 80k mileage warranty in them.

the pilot sports are a great tire, i highly recommend them. i had a set on my neon for a while, they worked well just couldn't get traction for me so i switched to the goodyear eagle f1 gs-d3's. now those were freaking awesome tires, although probably more than you were looking to spend. if you're trying to find a good summer tire (i see your in cali, so i'm guessing that you don't need an all-season) the ecsta's are also a good tire, hubby had them and he loved them for the price. can't go wrong with those or the pilot's.
oh also check out the toyo proxes 4 if they come in the size you're looking for, i had a set of those and i was pretty impressed with them and they're not badly priced.
