Default Accessory Mode?

Hey guys. I know that I can turn on accessory mode if I just press the start button once without stepping on the brake. Does anyone know if there is a way to switch from the engine on mode back into accessory mode without turning the engine off?

Push the volume knob right after you kill the ignition. That gives you 1hr of power for the stereo.

Holding the break pedal down and then hitting the main on off button for the radio gives me an hour as well.

Maybe I don't need to hold the pedal at all but it's what I did last time

If the engine is on, then everything is already powered. The difference between ACC and ON is the engine running also. If you want ACC while the engine is still running.... that's engine running--ON.

from the Fiesta owners guide
Quote:
Ignition modes
1. Off — press and release the START/STOP button without applying the
brake pedal (automatic transmission) or clutch pedal (manual
transmission) when your vehicle is in accessory or on modes or when the
engine is running.
2. On — press the START/STOP button without applying the brake pedal
(automatic transmission) or clutch pedal (manual transmission). This will
power your vehicle’s electrical system and the warning lights in the
instrument cluster will illuminate, but the engine will remain off.
3. Start — press the START/STOP button (for any length of time) while
applying the brake pedal (automatic transmission) or clutch pedal
(manual transmission). Note: The indicator light on the start button will
illuminate when the vehicle is in on mode and when the engine is
started.

Is the way I rephrased your question above what you are asking? If so, the only direct way I could think to do it would be to be in a manual transmission and kill the engine by coming to a dead stop while in gear and not using the clutch. I would avoid this.

The indirect way, that I think you're trying to avoid, would be to press the power button twice, once to turn the engine and all electronics off, then press again without any pedals depressed.

Thanks for everyone's reply.

What I wanted to ask was if the engine is running, is there a way to go into accessory mode. In other words, the engine is running and I want the engine off without turning off the radio.

I asked the same question just after I got mine, and the answer seems to be no. I dislike that I can't roll up my power windows without turning the engine back on (without clutch). My wife's Sport Trac allows up to 5 minutes of radio and window power after the engine is shut off as long as you don't open a door. My Old F-150 had the same feature.

Little things like that are why the car was able to be in the price range as it is. It's really is a give and take as far as the small perks go. Some like, some don't.
