I don't know if this has been mentioned before but compared to when I play a CD or listen to the regular FM radio the sirius radio sounds much worse in comparison. When I switch over to satellite radio it is usually quieter so I have to turn my radio up but another thing that bugs the hell out of me is how flat it sounds. The audio just doesn't have any depth if that makes any sense. Has anyone else had problems with this?

In the Menu (menu button by the 10-key area to the right) there are audio settings for Bass, Treble, etc. and whether it is focused on the driver or the whole cabin. Have you adjusted those settings?

I have also felt that about Sirius Radio, and that's why I don't use it anymore, very flat sound like you mentioned.

I think I know what you're talking about. To me sirius sounded kinda thin and tinny but on cd or aux it was fine. I ran the service out and waited for a promotional offer to start again, after they resent the signal to activate the service it sounded way better. Why I'm not sure but it might be worth a call.
I think you could probably adjust for it with the eq but that would throw things off for the other inputs? (I don't think we can do separate eq's for sources) The only other thing I can think of is some times I'm not sure about the quality of recordings they use on sirius. If you're like me and you listen to a good chunk of oldies it sounds like they throw on some poorly remastered stuff pretty often. Maybe it's just in my head , or its from flipping from 50s on 5 to alt nation too often .

The station you're listening to is 47,000 miles away! How good do you expect it to sound? It's a miracle you can hear it at all...

You may contact Sirius Radio and inform them of the sound quality. To speak to them via phone the number is 800-539-7474. Also, here's the SiriusXM link if you would like to reach them over their website. On another note, the EQ settings are for all sources. Therefore changing one will affect all sources. Quote:
When you get a chance, pop in a CD and make sure it works...lol. ![]() Quote:
Good to hear. I, like you and your fellow posters, can not abide a muffled sounding radio. Clarity is a must! FYI, As I stated above, the EQ settings are for the entire radio. Quote:
Yes, this is true. But a subscription is paid to have a station 47,000 miles away sound like it's signal is right around the corner. Just saying! ![]() Noemi

i think it has something to do with the data bitrate they are transmitting. Less bitrate, faster stream start times.
