Right now I own a Evo--which I last heard does not work well with Sync. Regardless, I am getting rid of this battery hungry phone since I cracked the screen.
So my question is, which Sprint phones work best with Sync? I figured I opted for a car with Sync--I might as well match a phone with it.

So, i had an interest in the iPone 4S and, i've gotta tell you, it's a little quirky but playing Pandora and Stitcher through the USB/Dock connector is a lot better than trying to do the same going through Mobile Apps through SYNC with the EVO. Although Mobile Apps still does not recognize that i have the apps installed on my phone, the information is still displayed on the screen. I have to say that the iPhone 4s is a lot better than the evo and is not as power hungry as long as you're in a good cell service area. I don't think that i'll ever go back to android...

I was thinking about going the iPhone route. I already own two iPods, and a Macbook Pro. Might as well become a complete Apple snob and get an iPhone while I am at it.
I was really hoping to get a phone that supported the text feature though.

iPhone does not do that, nor does it have an app for that.

Thought Apple had an app for everything?
I had an Evo and would drop connection ect too. Also cracked my screen and got an Evo 3D as an insurance replacement. Evo problems are gone. Pandora works great. |

You can use siri to read and respond to texts while in the car, you just have to hold down the home button on the phone and it will use the cars speakers and mic.

Having to use your phone to reply kind of defeats the purpose of Sync, right?

While the iPhone does work with SYNC, it requires you to connect via USB in order to use AppLink. It's also unable to utilize the text messaging feature at this time. Keep in mind though, the number of other phones that can do this is minimal as well. This is because a phone requires Message Access Profile (MAP). This is a Bluetooth protocol developed for the exchange of text message. If you have a certain phone in mind, let me know. I can check our internal notes to see if we have any feedback for that specific model. Jaclyn

I am looking for any smartphone that will work best with Sync. I am not hard set on any one given phone.
I have looked on the spreadsheet that ford put out, but it seemed pretty out of date as for new phones. And not having the text feature won't be the deciding factor--but I do want it to work with Sync as well as possible. But here is the list of phones I'm looking to get this summer: iPhone 4S Motorola PHOTON Samsung Transform (I am staying away from the useless over-priced 4G service)

you're going to have issue moving forward if you want to stay away form 4g as new phones are all pretty much moving in that direction.
