Default SYNC BlueTooth Issue

I recently graduated from a Blackberry to a Smartphone (Droid Razr). I was at my Ford garage last weekend to get my tires rotated and get an oil change. While there, I asked them to download all the updates on SYNC (I've never had any since I got the car in July, 2010). I paired up my new Smartphone and was good to go. It seems I'm having some issues with the bluetooth. On phone calls, I can hear my callers crystal clear and with good volume; they on the other hand, hear me garbled and cutting in and out. Has anyone experienced any of this? I was going to contact the SYNC website and see if they can offer anything. I hate going back to the garage for a problem like this.

I'm using the same phone (Droid Razr). Pairs up and works fine with no issues.
Try the 1-800 number for SYNC. They have been real helpful in the past on other problems.

It could also be the fact that you have poor signal in the area that you're calling. I know it sounds odd, but i've had it happen to me numerous times. Call comes in clear, goes out through what sounds like a meat grinder.

also try just restarting your phone. sometimes there can be issues with bluetooth that a simple reboot can fix. it generally fixes most of the bluetooth issues i've ever had.

Out of the blue (no pun intended) my "Bluetooth Audio" stopped working. It has worked flawlessly the two weeks that I've had the car. I've rebooted the phone, restarted the car, re-paired the device and tested the phone with a know working bluetooth speaker dock at home.

I smell conspiracy :P

My sync has been acting up a lot as of late too. Used to never have a problem with bluetooth audio on my iphone, but now it sometimes drops the connection until i reboot the radio. Also, playing music from USB is hit or miss sometimes... sometimes Sync will tell me there's no USB device, or it'll start playing with no sound.

But if I unplug the phone and plug it back in, it magically starts working again.

So, I dunno.

Anytime an update is performed on the SYNC system or your phone, we recommend performing a Master Reset, removing SYNC from your phone, and then pairing it again. Give it a try, if you haven't already done so.

Master Reset:

1. Press PHONE to enter the Phone Menu.
2. Scroll until System Settings is selected and press OK.
3. Scroll until Advanced is selected and press OK.
4. Scroll until Master Reset is selected and press OK.
5. Press OK to confirm when prompted. The display will confirm when
the reset is complete.

The first thing I recommend is making sure you have the latest SYNC software installed in your vehicle. Here's a link to check for updates:

Verify your VIN to access your SYNC owner account as a guest - Please Enter Your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)

For any SYNC-related questions, feel free to shoot me a PM.

I'm glad things are going well and I'm thrilled to hear the phone support team has been able to help you in the past.

Thanks for all the help. My Droid Razr seems to be working just fine now. It was by coincindence that I experienced poor reception on 3 different calls which I attribute to poor reception. I do have the latest SYNC update and the Droid phone was paired up after the updates.
