Default Boomerang Armrest Becoming Noisy

(I searched far and wide for an existing thread covering this issue, but couldn't find one unfortunately)

Has anyone's Boomerang Armrest become noisy after awhile? I did a smooth install about 3 months ago and love the armrest, but over the last few weeks the plastic has begun to "creak" and has become a major annoyance. It only happens when my arm is actually resting on it, so it's not constant, but that kind of defeats the whole purpose of having it obviously.

The armrest mount feels just as tight as the day I installed it, and there's definitely no metal-to-metal squeaking or anything. Just the creaking you'd expect if it were maybe 9 or 10 years old.

I tried emailing Boomco's customer service a few days, but never got a reply. Has anyone done an exchange with them before? Do they ever respond to emails? I'd hate to toss my $175 console cause it makes the cabin so noisy.

Hmmmm ... was just about to order this as my first mod. Now though? I guess I'll wait a bit to see if yours is an anomaly.

I've had this for over a year and no problem. I even keep all kinds of junk in it and even removed the sponge cushion in shallow compartment and its still quite. Could it be cold weather?

Ya know I thought that might be the case, but it's still noisy after the cabin has warmed up. Temperatures in Baltimore have been anywhere from 20-60 degrees this month.

Give them a call instead of the email. They are a great company to work with and I am sure they will make right by you.

I installed mine in December 2010 and it is quiet. No noise whatsoever. If I were you, I would go back and make sure that all the hardware was tight.

I've had mine for a little over a year now. I'm in agreement that it has become noisy. It mostly coming from the hinge where it swings up. If I put pressure there or swing it up, the noise stops so Timezones' complaint has merit.

If its the hinge, try a little WD-40!

I also have this problem of noise. I would say I have had mine for 6 months, and it has been noisy for last few months. Very annoying....
