Default Rlhit and run drivers

So my girlfriend was in an accident (she's fine her car has some damage)...and the other driver left the scene...
I have since found the driver and am collecting info of where they drive... do you think it would be illegal to post signs that read "I know what you did on Monday... you should go to the police" with her plate number along her daily route?

My Gf went to the police and we are waiting on her insurance and the police to talk

If you are 100% sure, you're damn right I'd confront the driver of said vehicle. I'd go straight to their house and possibly bring a LEO with me. Forget the signs.

Definitely 100% I have her plate number... while we wait for the police to do their job... I think psychological warfare is not uncalled for... imaging driving to work or school and seeing signs that talk to you...

If you have plate number, does LEO also have it? Ask them why she has not been ticketed/charged? Do not confront other driver - but do confront those who are supposed to do the job!

If it goes a week without anything to your satisfaction then go to shift Sergeant/Captain or Police Chief directly. I've gone as far as the City Attorney and Mayor to get something done ... it works, as long as you are civil and such.

Police have the plate... insurance has my Gfs info... but nothing from the other driver... I would never confront the other driver... but would like them to turn them selves in to make this easier...
I have pics of the car now showing the damage from the accident (found car parked)... but my gf lacks my desire to help and has now asked me not help her any more... wat a shame.

From my experience... insurance companies love photos... in my last incident the other driver had their car fixed and said there was no accident... photos proved otherwise... they also left scene... but I already took pics...

I wouldn't hang signs. If you need to take legal action in court it could be a negative for your side of things; harassment or something.

I'm glad you found the person and that your girlfriend is uninjured. All the best pursuing this person.
