Default Electric? Hybrid? Pffft ... not new at all.

Seems all the electric and hybrid vehicles of the last century owe Porsche a bit of a "thank you!"

Linky to article

1902 for a working hybrid, 1890s for electric ...

If as much time and research was put in to the steam auto car as the current gas engine we would not be in the spot we're in now. In fact we would be sending barrels of water at $120 a barrel to the mid-east.

Same with electric or even gas/electric or hell steam/electric

Imagine the fuel or energy economy we could have gotten if it was a priority.

I remember reading about this a few years back. I've often wondered where we would be today had things kept on this track instead of the fully gasoline powered track.

My God NO. Maybe nature has a way of keeping order. Most drivers can't navigate in two dimensions. Can you imagine the chaos if we added a third dimension?

In the 40s they predicted there would be a helicopter in everybody's garage.

The diesel was invented with using cooking oil, peanut oil as fuel ... but oh no ... we gotta use petroleum to do it.
