Arrow USA Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day! A thank you to your veterans and active military folks around here. Take a moment to reflect on the military history of the US and appreciate those who have gone before us -- I know I will.

I know what your vets have done to safeguard Canada too. Thanks.

As much as I'm proud to serve, I still feel modest when people thank me... My service seems inconsequential compared to others.

All of our people in our military are very important! I'm very proud of every one of you for what you do for our country. I have a grandson has been in the Air Force for 9 years and will be going back to Korea in October.

thank you all so much for all you do. i spent this morning at arlington national cemetery and saw (well, heard - us "normal" people weren't allowed in the amphitheater) obama's speech. that place is truly humbling. and huge. but a stark reminder of what it means to serve the country. thank you to all our service men and women that keep us free!

For any veterans with disabilities (any amount of disability), or any active duty military personel on leave that wants to camp in Oregon State Parks, you can do so for free for up to 5 days in a row (10 days total) per month. There is no residency restriction.
Oregon Parks and Recreation Department: State Parks Special Access Pass for Veterans with Disabilities & Refunds for Active Military On Leave

I know Washington has a similar program for veterans with 30% or greater disability, but requires Washington residency.
