That's what I was thinking too. I'm trying to talk the wife out of going to fireworks tonight and hitting up the new Transformers movie instead.

I'll be attending the "un-official" Town of Cheektowaga fireworks display. These people are nuts. There are the town sponsored displays that most places have. Then there are the back yard displays that people do. BUT, then there is the Cheektowaga, NY people who take over one of the town parks and at their own expense and liability, will put on a display that will rival any town sanctioned display anytime. My son and daughter-in-law live with-in walking distance of the park and we set up chairs along with hundreds of others as local neighbors drive up and unload their "works" and with friendly competition try to out do each other. The local authorities don't even try to stop it. These displays go on for hours into the night. Last year we found our poor dog huddled in my daughter-in-law's closet underneath bales of clothing.

Poor dog is already going nuts with the early fireworks tonight's festivities. Funny thing is that the in the worst thunder and lighting storms the dog has no problem and will go outside in the middle of the storm. But the fireworks drives him nuts!

I'll be climbing up on the roof of the building where I work tomorrow night.
Got a pretty good view up there of the Mississippi and at dusk we can usually see fireworks from several of the towns in the immediate/outlying areas.
We also go on the roof for severe thunderstorms, because we value safety...

Sounds like fun. When the kids were small, we and the dog would sit out front in the garage with the door open during thunder storms and watch the light show from the heavens.
