To the moderators,

Can anything be done about the Likes notifications? It's driving me nuts. Is there any way to let us know which post is liked? It would be nice to know who is giving the compliment without hunting for it.

I've been wondering it too, but for the most part it doesn't bother me. It's almost as broken as facebook likes

I hunt down 95% of my likes. I'd be nice if I didn't have to hunt.

yea we keep asking about this but nothing seems to come of it. are the admin's here actually on this site? they never seem to respond or be involved in any way. so much so that a potential sponsor had to put up a thread because they can't get in touch with anyone.....that's really not good.

I wondered about that myself. And there's never any new posts on the homepage. You'd think the new model year would warrant a post!

This site has a home page...

Its canned software they configured. The developer's would have to modify it. Write the vBulletin developer's and ask there. The moderators just deal with the posts, they don't write the code.

Yes I think we realize that, but the Mods ore our first line of communication and I would think our link to the administrators and in turn the software writers. We can't be the only ones who are complaining about it. If it came up for a vote I think I would vote it off as opposed to keeping the feature as it now stands.

I wonder if there is any way to automatically tag any post that has a Like given with a Like tag? Advanced search would then let you search by post for a specific username with Like in the tag box. That would at least bring back a list of all posts by a particular user that had been liked. Wouldn't be an ordered list of who liked what post when, but could still be better than nothing?

i have owned/admin'd forums before so i'm well aware of how it works. when you install software it is done through vBulletin forums, and there are threads regarding each new extension that is added. you can give feedback to the developers once users are using the software. this particular plug in seems to be from vBSEO and they are continuing to update the program, but it seems that the owners/admins have not installed the updates since it was first released.

Actually our vBSEO is current. There definitely is an issue with the Likes feature though. I'll do my best to track it down and have it fixed.
