On US-20 between Lancaster and Alden is a small little burg named Town Line, NY. This place is unique in that it seceded from the Union in 1861 and never rejoined it until 1946!
<nods> Yeah ... you heard me! ![]() I stumbled on this tidbit as I was reading up on the "Stars and Bars" Confederate battle flag thats all the debate S of the Mason-Dixon. Wikipedia page is here. Interesting.

I suspect it's government and services are part of Lancaster and or Alden. In all my life here in Western New York I never knew anything about this.

The show is still on but I can't recall exactly when.
Then again, it was History Channel show that pointed out the furthest north land action of the Civil War was actually in Northern Vermont (if I recall correctly). <researches Wiki again> Yup, St. Albans, Vermont - linky here. Scroll down to "Civil War sites in Vermont"
