1/96 scale U.S.S. Constitution (Old Ironsides). Haven't even completed step 1 yet ... just got the hull exterior painted (copper and white parts). Still have inside of the bulwarks to do before I start on the gun deck. Bottle on stern end (right side of pic) is 3-1/4 inches tall.
Final measurements when complete should be in the area of 35" L, 22" H, 15" W or thereabouts.

But I'm sure yours is much more challenging than this Revell Kit. However, had I any idea I would've given it to you! ![]() I use to do a lot model building as a kid up to and including the first several years of marriage. I still have some of the old sports cars. I should repair them and send pics someday. ![]() I'm still trying to sell several other plastic models on eBay: If you or any body else on this forum is interested I'll send them to you for the cost of shipping only.

Actually, my kit is a Revell! Of the 1/96 scale stuff they and Monogram made years back it's the only one in production or available for under $100. I wanted the Cutty Sark and Thermopylae but both were $126 or more.
For anyone wanting a challenge, I recommend the Constitution. I intend to have the gun deck with one side inboard and the other run out, sails down. Rigging will be a b*tch until I get used to doing seizes and stuff again. This will take me months to do at the rate I'm going now. When I built it during my military hitch at Little Rock, it was a good couple months of work. Cutty Sark was easily 4 months.

Micromark got a lot of business from me ... I highly recommend them as an online source of supplies. Masking was a lot easier with the vinyl tape (1/4" and 1/8") that I got from them. I used that for the lines then followed with normal painters tape to do the rest of the mask-off area.
I think I'll do the transom painting a bit at a time (small work) and stagger that with gun and carriage assembly/painting. So, I'll be working 2 steps in parallel. Should be interesting.
