Default Ebook reader & Books?

What is your favorite Ebook Eeader, Accessories and books?

I only have one ebook reader so I will start...

E-Reader;
I have the Nook Touch. It was shipped to me in Canada by a third party and registered to a US Address.. But very happy with it

Has just enough battery life to sit in bed and read without dieing for days on end

Accessories;
I have also purchased an overpriced book cover that is pure leather from Oberon Design - Couldn't be happier with it either.. this beast has a solid construction that saved my nook from one fall already

Books;
I just got done re-reading George R R Martins books after seeing his TV show conversion. Enjoying the books and I am now up to a Dance with Dragons..

But if he mentions girls flowering anymore I may be seriously tempted to hunt the man down. Like seriously how many different ways can an author dwell on a girls first cycle.

Oh well!

i have a kindle dx. love it. i have the magnetized leather cover and the led night light for it.

i like the fact that i can borrow books from my local library on my kindle, i never have to buy a book again.

favorite books - i love the game of thrones series, still waiting on the next one. right now i'm reading visions by michio kaku, and will be moving on to the physics of the impossible when i'm done with it. yeah i know, not the most interesting reading for most people but i'm a dork like that.

I have a Kindle, my wife and daughter both have Kindles. We love sharing books. All of us have different style cheap magnetic latch covers and Mighty Brite lights.

Love them. This last summer on the beach, we all sat out reading them in the bright sunlight. We also like the long life of the battery - a full month when we turn off the wireless. Two of the 3 Kindles have 3-G in addition to wi-fi which is nice to get books everywhere we go.

Overall favorite features:
  • Long life batteries
  • Easy to read in sunlight
  • Lots of free books
  • Sharing books (we can read them at same time)

I use various readers on my iTouch. But right now I started the last book Inhertance in hard cover of Christopher Paolini's Eragon series. I don't normally care for this type of fantasy but my daughter got me hooked on it.

I'll be buying an eReader as a gift to someone this year, I plan on buying the $79 Kindle. It does everything the recipient would want and then some, plus it's cheap. I did notice with the smaller size of the cheaper one that cases/covers aren't as plentiful.

I just use my netbook as an ereader. Why carry two devices? 11 hours is enough (14 w/o WiFi).

Actually, I don't have one. I use Smashwords.com for reading material if I can't find anything in softcover at the local book store. Smashwords are new/indie authors and some are pretty good. Pricing ranges from free to $9 or so depending on things.

Don't expect the likes of Martin, Jordan or other more well-known authors. However I can recommend a couple that I found pretty good in the SciFi and Fantasy areas. There are several downloadable formats including ebook readers.

I just bought a Kobo touch 2 weeks ago. So far, other then a few minor glitches I love the thing. Light, battery is still over half life, and its easy to read in most lighting conditions.

I haven't bothered to buy The song of ice and fire series yet, seeing as i already have it in hardcover. So far I have bought a few books in the Gaunts Ghosts series (very good 13 books and Dan Abnett is a fantastic writer) and I just started into Inhertance

My absolute biggest gripe with the ebooks right now is the fact that they still cost the same as an actual book. They are tiny bits of digital data. Why do they cost as much as an actual piece of paper that required trees and manufacturing process to produce. I get that a writers, and editors time is worth a lot of money, and that they pour their hearts into books. However I highly doubt that 100% of the money actually goes into the writers or editors pockets.
