Default <mumbles all sorts of obscenities>

<rant, rant, rant>
I try to do something "right" and get kicked by Mother nature for it.

I've been a smoker for 46 years and last month went onto Chantix to help stop. Several folks at work and my niece all used it with no problems. Using something like Wellbutrin on me does not work.

I go to see the Doctor tomorrow (4 week check) and I think I'll have to drop Chantix. I have 2 side effects that appear in the "serious" group - slight numbness in my left hand and skewed blood pressure. BP is normally 115-120/60-70 but I have had it skewed as much as 100/75 recently.

So I think I'm gonna have a chat with the guy ... but I bet he pulls me off Chantix! Damn it ... it was working fairly well, too!

welp, just be aware of any side effects of whatever you use (Chantix, Wellbutrin, etc). I'm having other treatments and thought the numbing was perhaps from them but that ain't so. It must be the smoking stuff.

Gonna be seriously miserable in the house for a bit until I get past the stop-smoking-DTs! <chuckle>

When I quit smoking I replaced it with another habit, peppermints.
Every time I felt like a cigarette I took a peppermint instead (ugh)
It worked and it wasn't too hard to quit eating peppermints.
For what it's worth, my Brother(smoker) had a spot in his lung removed turned out it was Cancer.
Try hard people we'll say an extra prayer for you.(it does help)

Terrible habit with no easy way out once you're hooked. Best of luck to each of you!

Cool

My mother was a smoker for as long as I can remember, she is coming up on I think 8yrs without a cigarette, she did the needless injections that get rid of your craving for nicotine. Also nicotine cravings only last 3 days, if you can stop from smoking for more than 3 days your body no longer craves the nicotine after that it is all mental.
