Project update

Some of you know I'm tackling a 1:96 scale model of the USS Constitution. I put up some earlier pics a couple weeks ago or so ... but this (<=== linky right here!! ) is the latest batch.

I recommend slideshow although some will be out of order as *I* wanted them. <shrug> The stern gallery is the better of 2 shots as it shows the bit of blue but losing clarity to see that the white mass in the middle is really several windows! Coloration is as noted in the instructions with some variations I know can be done and still retain some accuracy.

NOTES ...
Compared to shots of the real ship, there are a lot of differences in the bow and stern trim, gunports, etc. This is due to the real ship having several makeovers during her career. A couple examples:

• Gun ports on the real ship are currently of the clamshell type - 2 pieces with one dropping down and the other being raised.
• Inner color of the bulwarks could be either green (as I have chosen), white or black.
• Hull stripe could be white, black or grey.

What is not shown is that after I took those, I began preparing assembly of the 32 cannon for the gun deck! About 100 pieces that make up these cannon need to be cleaned and painted.

At least I ain't out drinking ... yet!
