I'm a smoker trying to quit. I have severe reactions to Chantix and so I'm trying other methods. Ennyhoo ...
Used to be one could purchase a car cigarette lighter at the local parts store without the 12v socket assembly. Idea being if the one your car had died, you could get a swap-in replacement. Sooo ... I head to the local parts store to get one of these for the car. I select the one labeled "fits most cars including ... " with Ford in the list. Guess what? The 12v socket in Fiesta is wider in diameter than the diameter of that lighter! <chuckles> I just find that a pretty darn good reason to not smoke in the car at all. And BTW, Cherri has not been smoked in. I can still smell lingering new-car-smell to this day.

Trying to quit sucks. I did it 5 years or so ago. I went from 2 packs per day to nothing cold turkey. Worst two weeks of my life. You can do eet!

Important thing is to keep trying to quit, even if you end up relapsing along the way. You can do it! After 5 years without smoking your chance for a stroke has gone back down to that of a non-smoker, after 6 months your chances for many heart related issues are greatly reduced (vs that of a smoker). My mom has quit smoking several times, and I know that after the first couple weeks she goes through a period of coughing for about 6-10 weeks. Her lungs clearing up a bit I guess. Anyway, good luck. I guess the Fiesta is giving you a sign. (:

I quit April 1, 2009.
Man those things stink after you stop. My favorite part about quitting is that I can actually go out to a bar and get lit and smoke one or two and not get hooked, not sure why it has worked this way but it has. It's not a common thing...maybe 5-6 times since 09 but I haven't craved one the next day like you would think. I did a month of Chantix, that stuff was too expensive to do for 3mo. Good luck man, it's all in your head!!

Cobra ... I just quit two months ago. And the money I used to spend on cigs makes the payment on my Fiesta! Can't believe I was spending over $300/month on the damn things.
That's incentive enough right there ... not the mention the obvious health benefits.

To address your original question, many cigarette car lighters were changed to a small size and installed within the ashtray assembly. Power ports on the other hand are the bigger size. I'm assuming a large lighter to fit power ports may be hard to come by since they are out of style. There are two standards A & B
12-V Sockets normally comply with SAE standard J563. 6-volt cigar lighter receptacle and plug

yeah ... I'm old enough to be getting the start of COPD and with Winter, it's pretty hard to get breathing right moreso. As for car payments, I own the 2 - paid cash up front.
But I certainly can think of other fun stuff to spend the cash on. I am down from 1-1/2 packs/day to about 1/2 pack. Should be interesting when I stop.
