Looking out the car window ...

Took a drive this morning - to get a paper and to just enjoy life in general. It's very seldom I feel the need to just stop and say "damn, but that's nice!" however one spot on the local county route near my workplace invoked that sentiment.

Through the windshield.

I should mention that where I work, about 2 square miles of land is owned by my company and another - both running a total of 3 nuke power plants. As a result, no hunting (private property!) makes it sort of a game preserve ... deer, turkey, coyote, fox, peregrine falcons, ospreys, skunk, raccoon, rabbit are all seen at one time or another on the property or even inside the fenceline. More than once I've had a fox or rabbit dart past me as I walked into work.

if you use Google Earth or similar, the shots were about 1.5 miles S of NY 104 on County rte 29 in Oswego County, NY. This location is about 6 miles S of my workplace.

In the windshield shot the snow haze in the left is from a guy using a small John Deere with snow blower. It was absolutely still except for that.

Central New York, south to north has to be some of the prettiest land in the east of the Mississippi!

Very nice.

We haven't gotten any snow this year. A little up in the mountains in late November but way less than normal. It is really hurting tourism around here. As much as snow annoys me, I am actually hoping for snow at this point.

We used to get snow here and I miss it. This morning I woke up and it was 70 degrees F. In the middle of January that's just NOT RIGHT!
