Well, yes of course you're right. It is fusterating. But I have to agree with Didds, the wording could've left a bit to be desired.

Here's the line I use when placing any adds in the List:

"Please note: I do not use phone to make contact with potential buyers. Please use e-mail to ask any questions. If interested we can arrange time and meeting place and then I'll provide a cell number to make final contact. Thank you for your cooperation."

If they ask why I tell them I had a stalker several yeas ago. That usually stops any more questions.

In about an hour I'm meeting a customer in a nearby plaza to sell some old ink cartridges. Tried selling 10 units in e-bay for $5.00. Today I sell them for $10.

Something I always like to add to a CL post is "If you can see this ad, the item is still available". Stops all the "do you still have it?" inquiries.

Dude those are feeler bots with feeler questions. They aren't real people and if they are real, you are one of 10,000 adds that got replied to. When you post our scarcastic reply they log that you responded and send you more queries hoping to eventually fish information from you.

You think that you are being cute by responding to them and they are in turn logging your email and number.

Don't respond and leave it for free. Quit complaining.

I personally use craigslist a fair amount just because of the great deals I can find but I have long since given up on trying to sell stuff on CL myself. Too many stupid people and too many people that are just going to waste your time.

What bugs me are replies that say they want the item. You write back asking where and when to meet but they never reply back!
