I imagine Matt, Megan and my dealer rep are all getting tired of me, too!

If Ford would get our cars to us we'd quit bugging them so much, right?

What if there are 2 larger dealers and one smaller within a 10 mile radius? Could the one going to the smaller dealer be put on the hauler for one of the larger ones?

I've compiled a list of over 4 dozen reviews and not a single one has bad critique of how the car handles.

The main gripes are: rear legroom if the front seats are far to the back and uneven floor when the rear seat is down.

Minor things some (not all) reviewers found: radio controls difficult, engine a little under powered, missing a arm rest, wished the automatic had flippers, the manual had a sixth gear.

And that's about it. Everything else is top notch, like the (optional) leather seats, optional equipment, looks. Funny really as this isn't rare at all for European sub-compacts! (Fiat Punto, VW Polo, Renault Clio, Peugeot 207, etc.)

I am short so anyone sitting behind me will have plenty of leg room! Just having seats fold down is enough for me!!! I just don't know how ordering a car to come in works. I won't know how much my down payment will be until I have to pay and I won't be having my car assessed for trade in until it's time to trade it in. I've never bought a new car before and any other car I've gotten the dealing was done by my aunts. Any advice would help

I am an average woman's height, but otherwise it sounds like we're doing the same thing. I want to test drive and I will be experiencing car buying for the first time in the "real world."

Ford advice I've asked family, friends, and Google. Mostly it's about figuring out what you want before you get there and pitting dealerships against one another. You can use tools on websites like Edmunds.com to send out mass emails to all dealers in your area to start the bidding war. Then haggle on specifics from there.

Congrats!

Mine is sitting in an order bank in the form of 1 and 0's, waiting to be submitted to the plant. I think they are still mining the iron ore to make the steel for mine.

Marc, we can only hope that this Fiesta is the tide of change that will make these quality options standard for the sub-compact American market.

First of all, at this point ordering is probably not the best thing to do. Ford has ended a its "reservation" campaign which incentivized customers to order early. I'd say visit as many dealers as you can and ask them about ordering vs. buying from the lot. You'll want to get an idea of when you'd get the car with each purchasing method and how many cars they plan to have in stock once they come in. Also ask if they could snag a car from another dealer's inventory if they didn't have color or options you wanted. Do not talk price or trade in at this point. I won't be negotiating price until my ordered car has been assigned a VIN number. Also, I don't plan on negotiating trade-in until the very last day. When you're at about 100,000 miles a few extra miles or wear-and-tear items don't make much difference. I recommend negotiating the trade separately from the new car. That prevents the dealer from rolling everything together and really confusing you.
