From Twitter: FordFiestaAsk Just wanted to say that I have reserved my Silver SE Hatchback Fiesta! Dealer says I'll have it mid-June. I can't wait! #fiestaAsk #Fun

I ordered my SES on 15 Feb and have been told I can expect to get it about mid-June, too. :-(

According to Matt the reservation consultant, all reserved Fiestas will ship over a three week period, probably in June. That's actually quite impressive. Had I known they could do that I'd have waited much longer to order.

Actually, Im waiting until the last minute to order, because I still have doubts about initial production "bugs". This is a newly retooled plant and the workers were putting together F-series trucks before, a very different product. Ive always advised others not to buy a "first year" model and look what I am doing.

The tooling is all based on the same stuff that is making Fiesta's all over the world. The Fiesta has also been selling very well in other markets. The car may be new to our market, but I don't consider it a first year build. I don't buy into the "don't buy first year" stuff anymore. This launch is so vital to Ford, they will not let anything go wrong. Every component is tested and well engineered. Each peice of tooling is based on what puts the rest of the worlds Fiesta's together. The 2000 Focus did not use the same tooling for both markets, and did not share this level of development. Besides, I have been running my EU Fiesta very hard for the past 12 months and suffer no issues. I would be more cautious if the Fiesta had zero history in other markets, and was completely new and untested. Mechanically, the US Fiesta and EU Fiesta are very close together. I have zero fear of buying a first year Fiesta.

So far there are over 10,000 Fiestas ordered so even if you ordered now, hopefully they will have the bugs worked out on those. I know what you mean though, I intentionally waited until just a couple of weeks ago to put in my order.

Ordered or "reserved"? I saw there were over 10,000 "reserved". Those who haven't yet gone to their dealerships and placed an official order for their Fiesta have until May 3rd to do so.

Ordered. I had to double-back and check myself when I first read that. It's in a recent Ford media press release that Jazzdog linked a couple of days ago. Here is the actual paragraph;

"More than 10,000 orders have been placed by customers. The all-new Ford Fiesta will offer North American consumers a stylish, fuel-efficient alternative when it goes on sale this summer. It will be built at Ford’s Cuautitlan assembly plant in Mexico."

You're right about the article. Guess I had the reservation number from a few weeks ago stuck in my head.

I know I also heard 10,000 as the number of reservations a few weeks ago. Since it's impossible that 100% of reservations became orders. I'd say that number is wrong. Either they used the wrong word or maybe they are counting orders for dealers as well as individual customers.
