*CLOSED* Poll: What is the Status of Your Fiesta Order?

I'm at ETA+4 and today my dealership was told my Fiesta is still on a railcar somewhere. It's been "In Transit" for over 3 weeks! My dealer is doing everything they can to find my car and get it delivered but they are getting stonewalled. What's going on with the delivery of our Fiestas?

Well I stopped by my dealer on Friday just to check in. There was an empty transport truck at the back of the lot when I got there. I of course got excited but sadly it didn't deliver my fiesta. We looked up where it was and it's still sitting in Illinois awaiting transport to the dealer. The only new bit of information was that 1 of the 3 fiestas that the dealer is getting for the lot was also there waiting for transport now. So I'm guessing they will sit there until the other 2 show up before they bring mine. He wasn't sure why they were doing that, but it was pretty obvious they were waiting for something.

In other news the sales guy I'm working with had a car stolen from him on Wednesday by a 72 year old man who just got out of prison. Came in with fake ID and stolen SSN. Turns out the dude has been in jail A LOT... several accounts of aggravated assault, rape, and grand theft auto. I'm guessing since he knew all the details that they ended up catching the guy. I'm just glad he didn't come in guns blazing and taking my fiesta off a newly arrived transport oh and I'm glad no one got hurt.

You know, I rarely (if ever) see a half-empty transport truck driving around. I wonder if they only make shipments when there are enough cars to fit on a transport. If dealers went to pick up custom orders, some stock cars would just never get to the dealership at all because there'd never be critical mass. Still totally sucks for the customer if it's something like that holding up our cars, and a good reason to only order from high-volume dealerships.

FYI, The transport that delivered Fiestas to Albany (when a single dealer one was delivered to each dealership a week or two ago) was a covered transport - you couldn't see the cars inside it nor could you see whether or not it was empty. Very different than the other transports I've see driving around here.

I think the tone in that thread is a little harsh, iamz. I'm probably going to join the club this week, but I don't blame Sam for this, and I don't think Ford is stonewalling. I just think industrial shipping is the kind of sausage-making customers were never meant to see up close, and they should have given us later arrival dates so we wouldn't be so impatient now.

It would be nice if they'd say "okay, it's really August 1" so I can go plead my case to the insurance companies not to jack up my rates for being carless so long.

I'm going to hang out here unless a mod forces me to go in a thread that makes Sam look like a bad guy.

Love it Iamz, I think your thread may be the beginning of a beautiful friendship with Sam, as long as he answers our concerns. I think it may also be a place where we can ask some direct questions to him and hopefully get some answers on issues we as customers are facing!

Apparently I was coming across as harsh so I changed it a bit. Hopefully everyone will be happy now.

The internet sales manager from my local ford dealer just called and my Fiesta arrived at the dealer. I'll be picking it up tomorrow. Hang on guys, they are starting to arrive at the dealer's lot.
