First new car was an '85 Tempo 2 door, five speed, next '95 Neon 4 door 5 speed, then '04 Toyota Matrix 5 speed, and Fiesta will be the 4th. The Tempo
was the nicest, Neon the fastest, Matrix the most expesive for repairs.Dan 65 Corvair Last edited by Corvair; 08-09-2010 at 12:16 PM. Reason: typo |

- 1988 Ford Festiva -stick (believe it or not, I liked the car & it went over 250,000 miles without a repair)
- 1995 Neon 5spd - initially liked but started falling apart after 3 years - 2003 Mini Cooper - sweet, but servicing was a pain (70 miles away). Sold it for almost what I paid for it. - 2005 Acura TL - Nice interstate cruiser My first car was a used 1978 Fiesta.

The Fiesta will be my first new car, although I still gotta go through with buying it. I have gone up to buy new cars before, but have always decided just before buying that the financing and the depreciation was not worth it. In my case back then with unestabished credit, financing a $24k car woulda cost me @$28k, then in very short time it depreciates tremendously to probably half of what you paid if you're lucky, so my $24k car that cost me $28k would only be worth $12k by the time I am done paying, not to mention high insurance rate for a new car. I decided I wasn't ready. Now I can pretty much pay cash and the price is low enough for what you get that I think it's actually worth my money.

The Fiesta will be my first brand new car. My first car in high school was a hand-me-down Grand Am. When I was in college, I looked into buying a new Honda, thinking that I could just get the base model. However, at that time, they only offered ABS on the EX models. I didn't care about the six-disc cd changer or power moonroof that were also included but living in Michigan, ABS was a must, so I ended up with a used Accord EX.
I think that's the main reason I refuse to buy Hondas now. The more I think about it, the more it annoys me that they make you pay extra for safety features. |

I bought my first new car in 2006 when I bought a Wrangler. But one year before that I bought my wife-to-be a 99 Saturn SL2 with 65,000 miles. We maintained the car meticulously and just gave the car to a cousin with 99,000 miles on it. We just placed an order for a Fiesta SEL sedan Bright Magenta Metallic and, thanks to Jazzdog, we know we can expect the car in Jersey July 19.
