I like the looks of the hatch better. I own a sedan. It was cheaper and has a longer luggage area. The sedan looks good from the side, 3/4 view, but not real fond of it from the back. Too tall and narrow.

Think the hatchback looks better but I'm getting a sedan...
I've always owned hatchbacks... Only one time have I owned a sedan (and it sucked)... but I'm good with the sedan I'm getting (still on a truck somewhere between indiana and mexico... UGH... |

At first I was happy with my Sedan... Now I kind of wish I got the Hatch for a tad more versatility... Then again... Sometimes I wish I got another car entirely.. So indecisive

I don't know if you knew this, but back in 2007, the 4-door sedan was originally a Ford Verve concept car along with the 3-door hatch when the new Mark VII Fiesta was first conceived. The 5-door hatch and the 2-door van ended up being their derivatives. The 5-door hatch of course ended up being released globally. Just google "Ford Verve concept car" for all information on that. All the new Ford Fiesta's are based on the Ford Verve concept.

I know the Fiesta has always been a hatchback but it wasn't the first time we saw the Fiesta in a sedan bodystyle. The Mark V Fiesta sedan was introduced in Latin America, and there is no denying that the Ford Verve sedan concept played a huge role in Ford marketing and selling the Fiesta in North America since they thought the hatchback wasn't going to sell as well in a place where people had always embraced sedans. I think it was always Ford's intention to release the car in a sedan bodystyle so saying the sedan design is an after thought doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Personally I really like the way the sedan looks, but I'm sure the Fiesta sedan will look even better in the future.
Like eRic post, this is what the Ford Verve Sedan looked like...

We have the H/B and love the looks, but everyone has different tastes.
Good thing, otherwse we'd all be married to the same person. (20,000 Comedians out of work and I've gotta try to be funny.)

I bought the sedan (2011 S, 5 speed) only because of price. $13,500? heck yeah! (vs. a 2011 Mazda2 for over $16,000, and even more for a Fiesta hatch.)
However, I voted for the hatchback on the poll. |
