My girlfriend liked the styling! We were in the market for an inexpensive and economical replacement for the big old turd that she was driving. I'd read some good reviews, so we went for it! (Keeping my fingers crossed that the DCT will prove reliable over time!)

She loves the car, and I enjoy driving it also. My main ride is a Ford Ranger, so the Fiesta rides and handles much better for her. Plus, she likes stuff like the "ambient lighting."

I probably shouldn't call her my girlfriend anymore. We got married in Vegas a couple weeks ago. Had an awesome time, and thank you to the people of Las Vegas for a perfect trip. And yes, even Elvis Presley was there for the wedding. He lives!

Dollar for dollar - best looking and features 2012 car out there IMO.
Top Gear - Highly reviewed for being a low-end car in their standards.
European style without all the expensive repairs (yeah I'm talking about the GTI).
It's small and fuel efficient and I love the idea that no one thinks I can fit into a small car being 6'5".

Bought mine because it was cheap, good on gas, hatchback, very EU in design.
Has been in production in the EU for a few years with high sales and satisfaction. Hope that it being in production for a few years it will have little to no issues.

What made me buy it? Not being able to afford gas in a 2007 Mustang when I got my job that is(was) 1 hour away.

Aside from that,

Gas mileage
Affordable
Looks nice
Great reviews

I love it even though it's the car hat replaced my beloved Mustang.

What everybody else said.

Going on almost a year of ownership now, and still no regrets for my decision!

For me, ultimately, it was the higher potential mpg. Fiesta vs. Focus, I'd give the focus the nod in value for content. Style is pretty close. Just trying to keep as much of my money as possible out of the pockets of the oil companies and the middle east.

It was a Ford. As was every other car I had ever owned. It was more affordable on gas/insurance/monthly payments than my Mustang was and I needed something for less dough.

Hi All I bought it because I have always liked small cars but wanted one with leather, heated seats good handling, styling and good fuel mi. I think that there is very few other cars that could match it fun to drive.

I needed a new reliable car with good gas milage for my long commute, since my other 2 cars were breaking down (2005 cavalier) or breaking down and had bad gas mileage (1996 grand marquis). I was looking at small cars like my dad's Fit (which was uncomfortable to drive and no power). Fiesta was cute, had good advertised gas mileage and reviews said fun to drive. Me and my husband and 3 still-at-home kids (out of 4 total kids) went and sat in one at the autoshow to see if we would all fit in it - and we did! Test drove one a few weeks later and that was all she wrote. Now I'm the proud owner of a TuxBlack 2012 SES auto and couldn't be happier!

Oh and: price vs options was also a factor. Lots of options for a car in this class. And I think the interior is much nicer than the 2012 focus se (I think it was) the dealer gave me as a loaner when I needed some work done to the fiesta.

Wink Why indeed?

I find this rather humorous. And I'm not dissing anybody. So please don't jump all over me.

Why did I buy the Fiesta?

1. It was inexpensive!

2. Great economy!

3. Looks great!

4. Overall handling is great.

I'm going put an additional $500 to several thousand dollars more into it to change out the suspension, muffler, tires, or add an CAI or whatever.

I'm going to do one better than the Ford engineers with years of experience and a wealth of knowledge and make the Fiesta more economical or powerful. I'm going to do this by spending several hundred / thousand dollars more that make me think is gets better mileage rather than change my driving habits.

I like the styling so much I'm going to change the grill, the bumper, the antenna, the lights, the interior, the windows. etc...

It handles great. I'm going to refit it with better steering, brakes, struts, suspension, whatever.

Now the real reasons for modding:

I'm doing all this because it's fun.
Because I can.
It's a challenge.
I'm learning things.
I can afford it.

I admire those who do the modding and I have no quarrel with it. Although its not for me.
