Default Decision stereo or STS?

So I came into a little extra cash and since I am a stereo guy I have found a radio (single din) that should make me happy... but I also am very interested in the Short Throw Shifter STS upgrade as well...

The STS isn't that expensive and will have cash left over...

The Stereo (radio, bezel and needed wiring adapters) would have me a little in the negative... and I know I would further expand on it so probably end up investing more in the long run (but already have amp wiring, subs, door speaker amps, etc...

So help me make my decesion... above and beyone stereo

or STS?

I like bass, so that's the option I went with. Short throw is nice I'm sure, but I personally get more enjoyment out of a higher performance audio system.

okay well this is what I'm thinking for the head unit if I end up doing it...

Single DIN Navigation Receiver - KD-NX5000 - Introduction

It's a JVC NX5000, 40gb HD, AM/FM/CD/DVD unfortunately it doesn't come equiped with ipod connection (it was produced thru 2008 I believe) and would have to add a bluetooth kit to it as well (which sucks)

anyways, I have a JCV NT50HDT that I had in my old car (bluetooth, nav, dvd, and ipod connection all built in)... (It was a little more than the one I'm looking at now by a good $500 retail...

Anyways, with the radio, bezel, wiring adapter (which is more than just a normal hook up wires and go, since it has to work with the oem computer) and antenna adapter... It's around $425... Not to bad but if the bezel and wiring wasn't needed it'b be around $150 less...

If I do this I will of course put my sub (10" competition audiobaun in a chamber ported box) and amp, then eventually upgrade the door speakers with who knows what (I so should have kept my infinity kappa component speakers from my cube, I keep kicking my ass over leaving them in it)...

And yes... single 10"... it's done me well and has out performed many dual 12's that people get installed at various places (best buy etc)...

Threw my vote in for the short throw. The Fiestas have a great stereo, but the shifter has always needed some work IMO. Fifth gear is almost in the glove box!

I vote for short throw too. So much fun driving the manual with STS!

Yeah I had a STS in my SVTF in 2003... loved it! got it from hector over at CFM...

Those who have the STS, anyone have the CFM STS? Those who do have did you buy the $149 without base and bushings? how hard is it to actually swap that? Really can't be that difficult right?

I like the CFM STS better than the steeda/ford racing one...
