This will show you how to replace the fuel pump on the 2011 Fiesta.

The only tool you need is a screw driver.

So here we go:

1. Remove the rear seat cushion. There are two clips just under the front edge of the seat about 8" or 10" in from either side and 1.5" to 2" from the front edge. You might be able to see them if you have a mirror and a flashlight but you can feel them under the front edge of the seat. They both push toward the passenger side of the car to release the seat cushion while you are pulling it up.

Here is the passenger side

And driver side

Here is the clip after the seat is removed

Once the clips are loose you have to push the cushion towards the rear of the car and then lift up to get the seat cushion out.

Here you can see the three clips at the rear of the seat cushion

After the seat is out it looks like this

2. Now pull out the 8" dia. rubber cover

3. Unplug the electrical connection.

4. Unclip the blue clip on the fuel line.

5. Use a screw driver and hammer to tap the 6" dia. locking ring counterclock-wise. You're done.

Thanks for sharing. That is so simple that the labor should be next to nothing if you pay to have it done. Im in the early process of needing a fuel pump for my Mustang and its going to be a PITA. Have to drop the tank, buy a special fuel line tool and bribe somebody to help me. After looking the job over I thought why didnt they put access to the pump through the bottom of the trunk?

I was wondering, how heavy is that rear seat you removed? 10 - 20 lbs?

You may have just helped me shed some extra weight for Autocrossing. I was planning on pulling all the headrests when I race, but this looks like an easy thing to take out and put back again.

Of course, I'll have to check the rules of ST first. But I think it can be removed.

EDIT: You just go me thinking. If that's where the fuel tank is on a Fiesta, where in the hell did Honda hide it on the Fit? If seats fold to the floor, where did the tank go?

This procedure is very interesting and helpful. But I would like to know if there are any precautions to be taken about the electrical system before starting this R & R? Should not the battery be disconnected? And if so when battery is re-installed will all functions return to normal? Will the dealer need to re-establish any computer instructions?
