Follow the instructions on the can. If it's too cold, then it's too cold. As long as the surface is clean, you should be okay. I usually give my interior a good vacuuming and steam cleaning before any application of Scotchgard. I also do it in the late spring or summer, just so that I have the correct ambient temperature for application.

The most important area I (Scotchguarded) is the foot well on the driver's side especially that foot rest. I can clearly see that the carpeting on the foot rest is going to clearly wear through in short order and can't understand why Ford didn't put a rubber pad over it like they did for our Flex.

I spilled a nearly full cup of coffee on the driver seat a few weeks ago. I soaked it up quickly and I didn't see any residue. Seems to be fine.

I had the local detailing shop do Phantom and Cherri will be done in a couple weeks. Why would I pay someone else to do it? Easy, they are Meguiars certified, been in business for over a decade and have a good reputation locally. Also, they do it indoors (well ventilated), so even bad weather won't interfere with their work.
Noticeable difference when water hits the seats. Phantom, it beads up and is easily taken care of. Cherri, not so well ... some beading but moist spot afterwards.
