I've been getting an intermittent check engine light with code P0054, indicating heater resistance on the downstream O2 sensor. The light seems to come on only when the temperature is low (say, 30F), but after a couple days at higher temperatures the light goes out. Is this as simple as replacing the O2 sensor or is there more to it? Does this need to be addressed immediately?
Since it warmed up, my CEL turned off. However, now that we're in the heat of the summer my light goes back on when it's above ~75 degrees F. So...I get a P0054 code when it's either really cold or really hot. Anyone have any thoughts? Could this be a fuse or is it most likely the sensor? I'm about ready to bring it in for service...
I finally went to the dealer for this. It took them 5 days, but they just replaced the O2 sensor. We'll see how it goes...
