Default Gday from Aus

Hey all how are we? Bit of an introduction, Im Dan, live in Aus in qld to be excact. I have a ford falcon xr6 turbo ute putting out about 515rwhp at 20psi runs a 12.4 qtr mile time at 116mph with street tyres. I am apart of the falconturbo.net.au forums and am a donating member.

My partner recently (yesterday) became the proud owner of a 2010 black mica 5 dr ford fiesta wt lx with the 1.6ltr and powershift trans ith only 4,300kms on it. Ive noticed that when driving it seems to have a bit of a miss fire throughout the rev range. I did not pick up on it when we picked the car up as i didnt test drive it. Has anyone else had this problem? When we pulled over for lunch i opened the bonnet just to check there was just not a loose spark plug lead or sumthing similar but couldnt find anything except the oil gas vent line that goes from the top of the motor to the bottom of the air box was not connected to the air box and just hanging in the breeze. Not that i think this is the problem but just thought id note it as may be helpful.

Anyway sorry for the long post and any feed back will be appreciated. Ill try and get photos up when i can but atm im still 6hrs from home, hnce the reason i havent just taken it to ford.

Cheers Dan

Thumbs up

Assuming you mean Australia and not Austria. (;

The PowerShift transmission in America spends the first 2000 miles learning the driver's driving style. I'm not sure what specifically you mean by misfiring, but it could be that the original driver accelerated quite differently than you/your partner. Perhaps take it to a Ford dealer and ask them to take a ride with you to see if they notice anything out of the realm of normal.

The air intake doesn't need to be connected to the top of the grill, if that was what you were describing. It just makes the airflow come from the grill instead of under the hood or bonnet as you'd say.

Oh, and welcome to FF! (:

Thanks for the welcome. Yea aus as in australia... Thought the g'day might give it away lol. I thought it was the box at first but its definately a misfire of some sort. Whether it be spark or even injectors maybe im not too sure. Ill be taking it to my local dealer monday to get them to have a look and drive.
