The 1.0t is only slightly more moddable than the 1.6NA for power mods IIRC and most of the options come from overseas vendors, making them hard to procure in the states. Not sure if AU has the same kind of issues as far as that goes, but I'm sure you'll find out. Weight reduction, especially in the realm of unsprung weight will be your best friend for the 1.0t though. Lightweight wheels and tires will really wake up throttle response and acceleration. Lightweight battery, rear seat removal, spare tire...can prolly get another 100 or so pounds out of it without super invasive mods. Then handling mods would be the go to for me.
