Just got off the phone with 3dc. Brooke said that by Mon the 7th they should have pricing and availability for the 4pc kit. Unlike the dealer who said the parts would only come primed, she said they will offer factory color pre-painted. She also thought the dealers should be able to offer the pre-painted ones. Call her (or Ernie) next week for details. 866-332-2726. CA-Pacific time

That price sounds about right for the painted kit. I spoke with Ernie as well, and he cleared up some questions about the kit. If anyone has noticed, the Ford build site has an image of the body kit that horribly rendered. The render was so bad that I talked myself out of the kit until I saw the pictures on 3D Carbon's website.

You can have the dealer install it, and most probably should go that route. I have installed all sorts of parts over the years, including building a Mustang track car, so I will install the kit myself. I will take the time to get it how I want it, and I enjoy doing that kind of stuff. My dad and brother are coming over to help.

After seeing the kit on a Fiesta at the Carlisle Ford Nationals this weekend, I must say that I actually prefer the car without it.

Yeah, I was shocked too. I thought I would love the kit in person.

I have pictures of the kit that I don't like, but I always seemed to really like it in person. I mostly like the rear diffuser, and that is probably the only reason I am getting the kit. The side skirts are ok, and the front lip is not as clean looking as the European version. I am hoping for a better front bumper cover that will fix the design issues of the US bumper. Larger opening, fog lamps, and a one peice upper grille would be things I hope the aftermarket create.

The rendered images on Ford's site of the body kit are nasty. The pictures of the actual car with the body kit on 3D Carbon's website are much better.

Yeah, I think it's the front lip that does it in for me. It doesn't flow with the bumper that well. The rear is great and the sides are not that bad.

I was thinking about this at lunch, and I realized that I loved the body kit on the FSWerks and Ford Accessory Tuner cars in LA. In Detroit, I liked the body kit less. The difference? The 17" wheels were swapped for production 16" wheels, which make the body kit look too big and overbearing. The Ford site shows the body kit with 15" hubcaps, making it look stupid. I think with large diameter wheels, exhaust, and minor tweaks like that, the body kit looks better. The front lip is still not as good as the European lip. The biggest fault of the US car is the small air intake, which I think the body kit makes it look smaller since it adds mass to the front bumper. I am thinking of using the S upper grille to try and balance out the bumper. Hopefully, somebody makes a bumper that looks more like the EU one.

I can't get to my Flickr' site from work, but look at the pics from LA and Detroit of the white Fiesta with the body kit. Looks good with 17" wheels, not as good with 16" wheels.

Ok, it works today

It just doesn't work that well with the factory 16" wheels. The kit is too heavy and the wheels are too small and plain looking. The front lip is still not my favorite, and its just a stop gap until I find a better front bumper. The skirts are good, and the back is perfect! I love the diffuser and rear spats. The front lip should have been toned down, and it would have looked better. Perhaps the lip would look better with the more aggressive EU bumper with the huge air intake. I just hope somebody in the aftermarket, or even Ford, comes out with a bumper cover that looks better.

What's the deal with the kit? Is it shipped to the dealer to somehow arrive around the time of the car or what? I have a general delivery date and the car is built but have no idea what's going on with the rear spoiler or the 3D carbon kit......

The spoiler and body kit are in the Ford System with pricing, but it shows 0 inventory in the country. I did order both items and we will just wait until they show up. Trying to get verification on part numbers for the prepainted kits, as I have FA for white, but 3D Carbon is saying KA is white.

That white car that was seen at the L.A. show was prepared by Galpin Auto Sport and is still on display there.
I added the 3d Carbon to my car at the time of sale and it was $1800.00 painted and installed by G.A.S.

I saw this body kit at the Vancouver Autoshow about 2 months ago. It looked great and for me, its a must have accessory. I want my Fiesta to be a little more "sporty" looking.

I still don't have enough cash for the Fiesta. But when I do, I'm going to ask the dealer for this bodykit, the euro spoiler, and the 17inch 15 spoke charcoal racing wheels from Ford Racing! After that, I'll be looking to add parts for autocrossing!

I completely agree, if there was a lower black splitter that went all the way across the bottom of the front, it would look fine, now it just looks like a pouty kid with his lip out from the side and like the middle section is missing from the front. Still think I will get one though.
