Approximately what date are "dealer order" stock Fiestas going to hit dealer lots?

I'm interested in heading down to the dealer and taking a test drive in a new Fiesta anyone know the approximate date of release to dealers of their ordered cars ? Thanks.

In March I had two dealers tell me sometime in April they would have one. Clearly they were wrong.
You should see some at dealers last week in May/first week of June.

Thanks Jazzdog!

I really can't wait to get my hands on a test car. I don't know how pleased the sales people will be because I will know way more than they do and I'll be looking at every detail and feature and report back here as well.
There better not be too many Fiestas in dealer inventory before my reserved car arrives. I was told back in January that if I didn't order in advance there could be a long wait before dealers have any real inventory.
It gets more confusing.

I was on the Mall in DC today and what do I see but a Ford Fiesta exhibit. (Pics here: Cars at the Climate Rally - a set on Flickr) I mentioned to the Ford rep there that I had one on order and he said that it was already in production and that they were filling up lots all over the place and as soon as Ford gave the go-ahead, they'd ship.

Most other sources say Job. 1 hasn't even happened yet. I don't know what to believe. I'm e-mailing Matt Wolfe for clarification. Meanwhile, my car remains unscheduled. I'm looking into the idea of swapping my reserved car for one that is already in the pipeline.
The guy was talking out of the wrong orifice, no vehicles have been shipped from the plant. The vehicle in the picture is an Eu version - foglamps & front end are different. Declaration of J1 is very near.
a Ford dealer in Dearborn told me Job #1 is Monday, 4/26/10.

This is true. Most dealerships will only have 1-2 Fiestas. Some dealerships will not receive any as they are not allocated any.

Some dealerships have 5 for allocation.

PS,

I forgot to email you back, but I wanted to let you know that I did send that to the NCCM for clarification. I don't believe that to be true though.

Also, the question about swapping your ordered car for the dealer car has been raised, and sent to Dearborn for comment.

Management lease starts today, but we must have one week of clean production before we start building customer cars.

And that's a good thing. I'd much rather have them work out the bugs on someone elses car. :)
I would just be happy with a VIN!

I emailed the local dealership with your original question, and this is what they told me. The end of May we should see them on the lots. I am excited to get behind the wheel of one of these!
I got an email from my dealership, a Fiesta will be available for a short viewing on the 19th from 10 to 3 pm.

Judging by his location I'd say Sweet Home, Alabama. :)
Ford employee Elise Abbot posted this today on Twitter regarding Fiesta ship dates.

We don't commit to dates due to multiple variables, but approx timing is the next couple months for the cars to show up! ^EA
It's not what I wanted to hear but it is what I expected. They really don't know when the cars will ship. It's consistent with what all the other Ford employees are (not) saying about the issue.

It makes sense because they probably want to be really sure of the quality before releasing the cars. I can live with that.

But what's up with the dealers who continue to insist on a "late May" ship date?
I guess I messed up. When it looked like delivery dates were likely to be in June I went ahead and sold my daily driver. Now I'm really anxious to get the Fiesta. Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.

Wrong band, try again with the lyrics but I'm in Iowa.
