Since I probably won't get a chance to sit in one before I order, can anyone comment on driver seat comfort? The spec's look like there should be plenty of legroom for a 6' tall person. Is there a footrest for the left foot?
I sat in the sedan at the NAIAS. I'm 6' 2.5" tall, and I felt a bit cramped in the car, although I think it was more elbow room than leg room. Still, I felt like I could have used more leg room. I do want to take longer to evaluate the seat comfort at a dealer or somewhere later, since I was too taken with the new Focus to really be into the Fiesta at that time.
The only way you can be assured to the suitable seat comfort your need is to actually get sufficient seat time At least an hour or so....Don't be shy about asking your dealer to provide a long test drive....it's you hard earned cash and I doubt they want you to buy and be dissatisfied with your purchase!
Thanks for all your responses. I was anxious to close a deal so I read all the reviews I could find and studied the interior room data. The interior dimensions are very close to the 1990 Honda Accord I bought new and am currently driving as my daily driver (except perhaps rear leg room), so I went ahead and placed my order for an SE Sedan.
It's pretty amazing that this car will cost me less than $1,000 more than I paid for the Honda 20 years ago, yet it has a similar amount of room and many more safety features. Seems like a pretty good value.
I find it easiest to move the controls while your driving. If I try and set it up before I leave the drive way, it feels all wrong when you going down the road. maybe you already do this, but just a thought.
