Yes it can be done. I just did it on my car.

No the Ford dealer can't do this for you, and it's not because they're jerks, it's because the Ford IDS software doesn't allow individual configuration changes. It applies an "as built" file downloaded from Ford on a per-VIN basis so a BCM can only be configured for the options a car was built with.

Forscan however will let you do it.

Here's what you'll need.

Forscan:
http://www.forscan.org

Adapter:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01F0GVBWY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Install Forscan and request an extended license key:
http://forscan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=836

Learn how to use central configuration:
http://forscan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1932

And here's some screenshots of me doing this to my own car:

Make sure you pick the IPC one and not the BCM one:

Editing the value:

Click write and confirm:

Writing the new values (I was nervous):

Now I don't actually have fog lights installed yet. I was waiting to see if this would work before buying them and the switch, which I'm going to go ahead and order them now. We'll see when they arrive if they actually work but I have no reason to believe they wont.

Also saw some other interesting things that can be configured:

Such as removal of the speed limiter:

Speedometer adjustment for different tire sizes:

Or different final drive ratios (this will be very useful for the first person who attempts a 6-spd swap!)

So that's that. No hacking your wiring or installing ugly aftermarket switches.

Important:

Ok so once I finally installed the fog lights and the switch I realized it wasn't working. I went back in again with Forscan and realized my error. Central config is in 2 places. The IPC, which apparently is the main store, and the BCM, which is the backup. So I did my configuration in the BCM, which seems then it was overwritten again by the IPC. I went back in and did on the IPC, and NOW it's working.

Thank you. Just trying to help out. :)

I'm still waiting for my headlight switch to come in from Amazon but I did install the fog lights (was really easy). I was able to make them flash on and off using the BCM function test in Forscan, so I at least know they work.

I did the switch and fog light install. Used Forscan as stated above and set to Foglamp with unrestrictions. What this does is allow the fog lights to be on in 3 positions: Running lights; headlights on; Auto headlights. If you want to restrict to with headlamps only, there is an option for that, too. I will post pics later.

As a side note, Forscan allows for many configurable PIDS. I updated my tire size to match my 16" wheels. I will spend more time in Forscan and start a new thread to capture options etc.

I'm glad to finally see someone editing the "as built" configuration in the BCM.

I have been wanting to add factory cruise control to my 2012 S since I purchased it.

Does this software allow editing cruise control? The steering wheel in my car is due for replacement due to wear, and if I can configure for cruise, I'd love to make that happen, since it's the only real complaint that I have.

I have been wanting to add foglights to my car ever since I saw the wiring harness behind the fog light cover (I had a minor front end collision and was driving without the driver's side cover for a few weeks). Good to know this can be done as I have read that the Ford dealer apparently can't enable the fog lights in the PCM for whatever reason, which put me off the whole idea until I saw this post. Now, I just have to order the parts and get a windows laptop from someone or somewhere so I can run the FORScan software (I'm a Mac user). My uncle works for IBM, maybe he can get me a decent laptop for a fair price, lol.

Hi, Thanks to you (and some research), i was able to set up the fogs light on my 2013 Fiesta (France/Europe) ?
The real difficulty was the switch replacement, it’s quite different from those that I have seen (US ones ?), It was a mess to remove the side dash cover, put my whole hand in the hole and grab with the fingers the release mechanism from the inside, but I succeeded, using the following link (somebody talks about the removal in one post) :

I just recently installed my fog lights from winjet and they came with their own wiring setup but I dont want to go through that hassle since my fiesta 2016 se has the wiring already installed. My ONLY issues is my switch in my car does not have the fog light switch it stops after auto lights. Do i need to buy a switch to turn the lights on or will the lights come on with my normal lights.

Good Stuff

I have a 2019 Fiesta and I ordered the Switch and Fog Lights. I was lost to why they didn't work so I started my Internet search. I came across your post and looked at Forscan YouTube video's as well. My Fog Lights came to life by changing the value to Fog Lights with no restrictions in the IPC Central Configuration (MAIN) with no further actions needed.
Thanks for being a part of the puzzle BIG HIGH FIVE!
When the Ambient aesthetic light switch I ordered comes in I'm bringing that feature to life as well.
