I don't think the auto industry is out of the woods yet.

Although, my feeling is that we are not in a 'double-dip' recession. There is historically 'soft spots' on the way to recovery.

At least that's what I'm hoping! :D

When I was on vacation, all the Versa's I saw were rental cars. They all had bar codes on the back window. When (if) Ford gets their supply system working, sales will go up.

The Versa also has a super-stripper base model that MSRPs for $9990. So, that probably catches many of those shopping strictly on price.

I'm surprised the Yaris's sales are so soft; despite all the supply problems and being on sale for only 3 months the Fiesta is already outselling it. I wonder how well the Fiesta will sell once the supply problems get sorted out.

I took a test drive in the Yaris last year. It just felt "cheap" to me. Cannot compare to the Fiesta IMO.

The Toyota dealership in my town advertises great deals and 0% interest rates. Once you get inside & sit down with them it's a different story. They offered my daughter-in-law 17% interest! She bought a Ford Fusion @0% for 60 months.

We also test drove the Yaris before deciding on the Fiesta. I agree that it did feel cheaper. The only thing the Yaris had going for it was that it cost less and was available for deliver immediately. We decided to wait and pay a bit more for the easily better car.

I have two posts now with you saying that. =) You said that as well in the pricing thread. We don't have the fancy Sync though. We just have the plain old 200a.
