Why I didn't buy...

Honda Fit: Looks too vanlike, weird interior.

Mazda2: Archaic 4-speed automatic (I wasn't looking at manuals).

Hyundai Elantra: Not out at the time I was looking, Would have been a strong contender if it was. However, I'm having a hard time accepting its interior design.

Chevrolet Cruze: Poor fuel economy, just 22 mpg city on the LS model I could afford. That's no better than the car I had before. Too bad, since I liked a lot of other things about the car.

My fallback car, had a I not been able to find a good Fiesta deal, would have been the Honda Civic VP. A long-time favorite of mine.
